It’s movie night at the John Candy Box Theatre, as Big Rat Theatre presents a completely improvised show, based entirely on suggestions from you, the audience! Every show is different, as we take your genre, setting, and made up movie title, and bring it to life on stage, with no script and no rehearsal! It all comes together with improvised lighting and a live pianist making our soundtrack on the spot! There might even be some songs!

What is Improv Comedy?

Improv is short for "improvisation", meaning everything you see performed in our shows is made up on the spot. Our cast has no script, our pianist has no sheet music, and our tech has no cues given ahead of time.

All the lighting, dialogue, stage direction, songs, and plot are completely made up, live, and in the moment, based on suggestions our audience gives us at the start of the show.
